One of the last paintings I sourced while in Paris this past Spring! I thought it was such a happy painting. An antique cubist painting from early 20th century depicting a colorful French village. It almost reminds me of an old circus, making me ponder all the antiques and oddities housed beneath all those brightly colored roofs of buildings. Wouldn’t this look great in a kids room?! Start your kids off right by exposing them to original art to spark their creativity and nurture their imagination ❤️ Signed in lower right hand corner and dated 1914 (yep, 1914. And cubism was born in Paris just 7 years prior!). Craquelure present throughout but paint is fully stable on stretched canvas. Presented in a handmade lath frame original to painting.
