This painting is the kind of painting that makes you want to look deep within it scanning it for all the nuances of depth and color. It reminds me of lying on one’s back and staring into the dark night sky searching for as many constellations as possibly. It is, as is the case with most art, exceedingly better in person vs photograph and it is almost impossible to photograph this one. You gotta see it in person— especially for that luscious texture (see last slide). I don’t even know how he created that texture but I wish I knew because daaangggg— I love it.
Painted circa late 1940s-early 1950s by Pierre Montheillet. Oil on canvas board. Presented in a fabulous vintage gold frame that complements the painting perfectly. Wired to hang vertically OR horizontally.
